TDEM - HAZMAT

Texas Division of Emergency Management

All TDEM classes are offered free of charge and many come with a Pro Board certification. TDEM would like to encourage all departments, especially those in rural areas to look through the training catalog at courses that you might be interested in sending personnel to or hosting. Rural department students (those from counties with less than 150,000 in population) may qualify for reimbursement for lodging as well to attend class in another county and/or 100 miles away.

All of the classes can be found on the Hazmat Training Catalog, HERE.

Spinal Injury Best Practices Guidelines

American College of Surgeons

This Best Practices Guideline (BPG) begins with the epidemiology of spinal injury, then reviews pre-hospital spinal motion restriction, cervical collar clearance, and appropriate imaging. It goes on to include details about completing a physical exam for evaluation of spinal cord injury and the classification systems for both spinal column injury and spinal cord injury.
